‘Flummoxed’ Kills It

– Noelle Mandolfo

kLL sMTH kills it yet again with his latest album drop “Flummoxed” featuring six new tracks of

glitchy dubtastic bangers. Several give us those dark squelchy beats we know and love, delivering a a

familiar yet advanced production. However what stands out most are the funky, jazz-like nuances he’s

been playing with (ie. “Mutton Chopper,” “Flummoxed”) which bring about a bubbliness you can’t

resist bumpin’ to. kLL sMTH has seamlessly expanded and refined his style into lush layers of dirty

glitch and deliciously sensual undertones, resulting in a feel-good fabrication of fluidity. “Skrowler”

introduces some sexy scratching and deep aquatic-robotic breaks reminiscent of Dave Tipper, leaving

me eager and curious to see what else is up his sleeve. Rumor has it that live scratching will be

incorporated into his EP Release Party at Cervantes’ here in Denver next week!

You can catch kLL sMTH’s first Denver Headline performance this Wednesday, February 24th at the Cervantes Otherside along with Ryan Viser, Mikey Thunder, DigitalVagabond and Jason Burrus.

Doors open at 8pm. Free before 9pm for 21+, $10 after. RSVP HERE
